The folks behind Lincoln Station in Lincoln Park have
departed from their sports bar, college crowd roots
for their newest hangout, a spot for Lakeview sophisticates
who want less Miller Lite and more martini. Lennox Lounge
is a "grown-up tavern," the owners call it,
featuring warm earth tones, a wall-to-wall mahogany
bar and comfy circular booths. The kitchen serves American-influenced
tapas, although the emphasis seems to be more on drinking
and mingling than dining. The music is bartender's choice
- from drum 'n' bass to folk - and the mood
of the post-work and prime-time nightlife crowd is casual
and relaxed.

Readers sound off on new bars and restaurants
from Reader Reviews
"The wife and I stopped by for an early dinner
and were blown away by the food, the selection of caramel-colored
hard liquor and service that made us feel right at home.
This place will be our regular haunt when they increase
their selection of Wisconsin-brewed long necks."

and party-pooper.

The Buzz
Those who cut their nightlife teeth at the Lincoln Station
sports bar but have outgrown that scene now have a new,
more mature destination from the same owners.
The Draw
A full bar serves all the popular adult beverages, while
the kitchen presents tasty tapas. Area residents in
the "30-something professional" category appreciate
Lennox Lounge's casual but calm atmosphere.

As neighborhood hangs become increasingly indistinguishable
from the over-the-top taverns of downtown, it's refreshing
to find a cool-out spot that's low-key without being
rundown. Lennox Lounge, owned by the partners behind
Lincoln Station, features American contemporary-style
tapas, rootsy music and a nice decor of earth tones,
roomy booths and a knowledgeable waitstaff. The bar
caters to an over-30, professional crowd, but weekends
attract large numbers of early- and mid-20 year olds
camping out until they make their move to other spots.
Settle in right after work, order from a nice selection
of beers and martinis, and soak in an atmosphere where
you can fit in whether you're wearing jeans or a suit.
